It can be used on any friction producing surface or exposed tool. In grinding , MerLube 517 Solid stops heat checking and the beveling effect that is generally transferred from the wheel to the part because of the extensive heat. Heat elimination has dramatically been displayed when grinding carbide tools with diamond wheels.

	MerLube 517 Solid has shown big savings when applied to resin fiber discs and small belts. An operator uses much less MerLube 517 Solid than sloppy grease sticks.
