4.1Air
Particle Filters
There are two types
of filters that are available: air particle and coalescing. An air particle
filter should handle small amounts of water, compressor oil, and floating
particulate. Either a manual or automatic filter can be used. If not
specified at time of ordering, an automatic filter will be furnished.
When severe water of compressor oil is present
in the air line, the only alternative is a coalescing filter with a
pre-particle filter element. Contact the factory or your local fluid power
dealer for assistance.
4.2
Reservoirs
All Merlicator's come standard with a 10oz
reservoir. Larger reservoirs are available with a quart size being the most
common option. All reservoirs have a 1/4 NPT fitting to properly mate to the
pump mounting base.
4.3
Liquid Level
Indicators; Relay
When the need to monitor
the amount of Merlube liquid in the reservoir is necessary, a liquid level
switch (and relay if needed) can be mounted into the reservoir. the
combination of the level indicator and relay allows the user to hook into an
audible alarm or light to warn the operator when the liquid level has
reached a refill status. this option has its own operators manual for its
installation and usage. The unit is filly assembled but requires an
electrician to install.
4.4
Air Gauge (Optional)
The air gauge is installed
directly on the manifold to allow the operator to monitor the inside air
pressure flowing through the Merlicator. There are no adjustments.
4.5
Individual Nozzle Shutoffs
When two or more nozzles
are ordered but are not always utilized, independent nozzle action is
achieved by the installation of individual nozzle (s) shutoff. The
importance of a properly activated shutoff system cannot be stressed. This
switching device turns off both the air and liquid equally. Various
combinations of shutoffs are available. This is a factory installed option
and cannot be field installed. This option has its own operator's manual for
its usage.
4.6
Extended Oil & Liquid Hose Lengths
If it is determined that
longer hoses are necessary, both the inner and outer tubes must be replaced.
Remember to give special attention to the length of the inner capillary tube
(Section 3.3). When ordering be sure to specify the length of reach
necessary.
4.7
Coiled Hose
Coiled hose is available
when limited space for hosing is necessary. It is generally not furnished or
practical over 6' lengths.
4.8
Cylinder Lock
The key lock is a standard
key lock with two keys furnished. They are furnished keyed alike unless
otherwise specified.
4.9
Self Prime Device
The self-prime device
facilitates priming the pump during initial set up or when the pump is run
dry and develops an air lock. By merely opening the valve and letting the
MerLube flow through the tube any air lock that has developed will dislodge.
It would be helpful to put a rag or small collection tray in the box below
the tube so the liquid does not run throughout the box. |
