Merlicator Information -- Nozzles (Back to TOC)

3. Nozzles

     3.1       Types

     3.2       Location

     3.3        Inside Capillary Tube Location

3.1Nozzle Types

There are two common types of delivery nozzles on all Merlicator's: Flexible plastic and Semi-Rigid Copper Tubing.

3.2 Nozzle Location

Always position the nozzle(s) so the oil is being applied into the cutting face of the tool - OUTSIDE the cut. Magnets installed on the nozzles will greatly facilitate correct nozzle placement. For more details, ask your salesman or call your factory technicians. The nozzle(s) must not be allowed to move. They must be installed so that vibration, air, or debris do not affect or compete with the ability of the nozzle(s) to deliver the required amount of Merlube to the required place. Remember: one ounce does not allow waste or miss-application of the Merlube liquid.

3.3 Inside Capillary Tube (Fig. 3A)

The location of the inside capillary tube is important. That tube starts at the pump and runs continuously to the end of the nozzle.

This tube cannot be spliced or taped. If damaged, kinked, or severed it must be replaced in total. The capillary tube must end 1" to 1-1/2" from the end of the nozzle. It should never protrude from the nozzle tip itself and should never be more than 1-1/2" from the end. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT for the proper pattern of liquid to be delivered. Whenever installing a new capilary tube make certain that the outside hose is straight and taunt.
